Creative Direction / Print Production / Graphic Design

Each year the City of Orlando celebrates Black History Month with an annual kickoff event. As a keepsake for the events attendees, “The Fabric of Our Communities” brochure was designed and distributed as an educational piece to emphasize the many historically Black landmarks throughout the City of Orlando.

Brochure Features and Placement

The “Fabric of Our Communities Brochure” extends the impact of Black History Month beyond the month of February, encouraging citizens to visit and explore the many historical landmarks within their community. The brochure features 19 locations throughout the City of Orlando; many of which are still functioning community centers, churches, housing units and museums open to the public for historic exploration.

The brochure is featured at many City of Orlando events and used as an educational resource for other City departments and organizations. Most notably, it was adopted by the Downtown Development board and is displayed as an informational resource inside the “Discover Downtown” information office, which is the primary source of information for City of Orlando residents and tourists.

Souvenirs and More

The designs are also sold as souvenir postcards in the Discover Downtown information office.
